About Our Featured Artists

  • Born and based in Los Angeles and active in the Southern California graffiti scene since the early nineties, multimedia artist Augustine Kofie (b. 1973) works in painting, collage and mural interventions. Kofie’s fine art practice draws together the languages of graffiti’s deconstructive lettering, mechanical drafting, modern architecture, and plunderphonics, creating a unique take on constructivist abstraction, or as the artists refers to as ‘Vintage Futurism.’ Kofie has been featured in Juxtapoz, Graffiti Art Magazine, The World Atlas of Street Art and Graffiti, Le Petit Voyeur and VNA Magazine 26.  His work is in both national and international private collections and has appeared on numerous book and album covers. Recent exhibitions include Adventures in Tonality, Gallery Openspace, Paris (2020); State of Mind, Hashimoto Contemporary, New York City (2021); ROTATIONSHIPS. Heron Arts, San Francisco (2022) & 1970s / GRAFFITI / TODAY, Phillips Gallery, NYC (2022)

  • Alice Garik is an artist who explores and expresses our interconnections, through our bodies, with nature.  With this visceral connection at the core of her work, she uses photographic processes requiring drawing and painting on organically sourced handmade papers.

Garik’s work is in the collections of The Brooklyn Museum, The New York Public Library, The Polaroid Collection among others.  She has executed illustrations for book covers and her work has been on the sets of several popular movies and TV series.  Work from her current project was exhibited in 2017 in “Tattooed New-York” at The New-York Historical Society in NYC.  In 2020 Alice exhibited in an online exhibit with the Berlin Collectiv and in another curated exhibition, “Naturatis” in 2021.  In 2021 two portfolios were selected for the online exhibit “(Nature In) Lockdown” in Floresta Magazine.  Garik exhibited in “The Art of Coney Island” at The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in the summer of 2021.  In the fall of 2021 her work was exhibited in “Oc.cu.pied”, a curated exhibition of art by women, as part of Arts Gowanus Open Studios in Brooklyn.  In the spring of 2022, Alice exhibited in “Fragile Rainbow:  Traversing Habitats”, curated by Sue Spaid with members of EcoArtSpace and in “Act Natural” an online Berlin Collectiv exhibition.  In summer 2022, Garik exhibited with BWAC in the show “More Art of Coney Island”.  In 2023, Garik’s work is now part of White Column’s curated artist registry.  At the start of 2024 she is exhibiting with AzureArtsNYC in a curated three artist exhibit on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.  Through February 2024, her work is featured in the lobby of The Brooklyn Workspace, Brooklyn, NY.

She is based in Brooklyn, NY.

  • M. McCune is a reclusive artist residing on a remote mesa in the high desert of Arizona. Embracing the solitude and natural beauty of the desert,  and Western personalities.  McCune draws inspiration from the stark, rugged landscape that surrounds his home. This isolation provides a unique perspective and deep connection to his art, allowing him to produce work that is both intensely personal and universally evocative.

McCune’s primary mediums are graphite and charcoal, through which they create highly detailed and emotive pieces. The monochromatic palette of these mediums complements the Western environment, reflecting its harsh beauty and subtle nuances. He spends between 50-200 hours on one drawing.

McCune’s work has been featured in select galleries across the Southwest and in private collections. Though he rarely attends public exhibitions, his pieces continue to captivate and inspire viewers, bridging the gap between their solitary existence and the wider art community.
